Dedicated servers are physically configured on hardware after payment confirmation. Our team handles OS installation, RAID configuration, network setup, and connectivity testing before handover. You'll receive full credentials and a welcome pack by email. Most orders complete within 90 minutes; complex configurations may take up to 4 hours.

FAQ

Why does provisioning take 90 minutes instead of being instant?

Dedicated servers are physical hardware — our team physically boots the machine, installs your chosen OS from scratch, configures RAID arrays, sets up network interfaces, applies firewall rules, tests SSH access, and verifies IPMI before handover. This cannot be automated the same way virtual provisioning can. 90 minutes is the average for standard configurations; custom RAID or OS configurations may take longer.

Should I choose Ryzen 9 7900 (Pro 12) or EPYC 9224 (Pro 24)?

It depends on your workload. The Ryzen 9 7900 has a significantly higher boost clock (5.4 GHz vs 3.65 GHz) which makes it better for single-threaded workloads — game servers, certain databases, and applications that don't parallelise well. The EPYC 9224 has twice the cores and ECC RAM, making it better for parallel workloads, virtualisation hosts, and enterprise applications that need memory reliability. Is RAID included and what configuration do you use?

On dual-drive plans (Pro 24, 32, 64), RAID 1 (mirroring) is configured by default — this mirrors your data across both drives for hardware redundancy. If you prefer RAID 0 (striping for max performance, no redundancy) or a custom JBOD layout, specify this when you enquire. RAID configuration is done at no extra cost. Pro 12 has a single drive — no RAID is applicable.

Can I add more storage or RAM after ordering?

RAM upgrades and additional drives are possible on some configurations — contact us after ordering or mention it in your enquiry. The Pro 64 supports up to 1.1 TB RAM and can accommodate additional NVMe drives. Hardware upgrades require a maintenance window and are priced separately.

What operating systems are available?

Ubuntu Server (22.04 / 24.04), Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, Rocky Linux, and Windows Server 2019/2022. Custom ISO installation is available — specify in your enquiry. Windows Server licensing is charged separately at the applicable Microsoft rate.

When should I choose Dedicated over Cloud VDS?

Cloud VDS gives dedicated physical cores but still runs a hypervisor. Dedicated removes the hypervisor entirely. Choose Dedicated when: you need more than 8 cores, require specific hardware (RAID, multiple drives, IPMI), have compliance requirements that mandate single-tenant physical hardware, want to run your own hypervisor (Proxmox, VMware), or need the last 5–10% of raw CPU throughput. How do I pay — can I use PayPal or card from outside South Africa?

Yes — we accept card payments, EFT (South Africa), and PayPal for international customers. Invoices can be issued in ZAR, USD, EUR, or GBP. Mention your preferred currency and payment method in your enquiry.
